Quick Take: Centrally-Located, Still Affordable, and Stylish

It might seem like a stretch to call something “affordable” that has a 6 in front of it, but here we are and welcome to 2018. At least in the case of this home, I feel like you’re getting something for it. I love older neighborhoods. The trees are more grown-in, there’s more history, and I love that the houses don’t always look the same. But the cold, hard, truth is that many 1950s floorplans just weren’t that great. Low ceilings, and dark closed-off rooms were the norm. And when many homebuyers see what’s being produced today…that’s what’s missing. So this one is a standout…the shell says 1950s ranch, but the inside is open as can be…not a trivial feat in a home design that has a fireplace in the middle of the room. There are a couple of missteps…the bathroom tile in the secondary bath is a bit busy. But by and large, they’ve taken the old and not just made it look like new, but function like it, too.
